More than ever, families are turning to
mealtime for comfort and time to reconnect with one another. Men and women
alike are adding cooking to their hobby list and finding ways to enhance
their culinary skills. The Palette Lecture Series™ is our answer to this
demand. Institutions can select from an exciting list of topics designed to engage the audience through lecture, demonstration, and tasting. Each lecture is sure to tantalize the senses and inspire the audience to create their own culinary experiences right at home. Each participant will receive free samples of product from our Palette Classics™ line to try in their own kitchen along with a copy of Palette Notes™ highlighting the main points of the program. Institutions may request a copy of the Palette Notes™, specific to the program chosen, for advertising the upcoming event. The following catalog includes the lecture title and summary description. Each program will run one hour, with time allowed for questions and tasting after the presentation. History & Lore of Spices Learn about the world of spices; their origin, flavor characteristics, and folklore. Participants will also begin to develop their senses through sight, smell and tasting of various spices. A tasting will follow the demonstration, where participants can try their palates at identifying the spices in a seasoning blend. Cooking with Your Backyard Herb Garden The perfect choice for your Spring program, this lecture gives insight to the cooking herbs easily grown in our area. Learn how to best use those herbs in everyday cooking during the spring and summer months, and how to preserve them for fall and winter cooking. In addition to tasting a recipe made with fresh herbs, participants will be given a small herb garden starter set to grow at home. Taste of Mexico One of the hottest cuisines in the kitchen today is Mexican. Learn how traditional Mexican cooking differs from Americanized Mexican. We’ll explore the spices and other ingredients used in various regions of Mexico and taste some authentic recipes that highlight those flavors. Participants will receive a sample of our Sabor Sabrosa!™ seasoning to try at home. Healthy Cooking Trying to reduce your salt intake, but don’t like to sacrifice flavor? This is the program for you! Learn how to use herbs and spices to enhance the flavor of your food without adding salt or msg. Get ideas for combinations best suited for certain dishes and sample some delicious examples of salt-free recipes that can be made at home. Participants will receive a sample of our Heart Smart™ seasoning to try at home. Seasonings for the Grill - Rubs, Marinades & Sauces Learn how each technique works and when to use them. Hands on opportunity to experiment with herbs and spices. Take home recipes to try.
Low Carb Cuisine This lifestyle trend has consumers looking for information and ideas in reduced carb cooking. Learn what’s behind the numbers when it comes to calculating carbs. See a cooking demonstration of reduced carb recipes and sample the finished product. Take home ideas for ingredients to help you reduce carbs in your own recipes.
Summer Salads Keep the kitchen cool this summer with easy salads that are light on calories but over the top on taste! Take home ideas for creating your own salad toppings and dressings, and sample recipes using the trendiest in flavors this season. Participants may choose to create their own dressing during the class using a variety of ingredients.

Food safety, personal safety, nutrition, meal planning, and basic cooking skills are addressed. Each course has a class size limit in order to maximize the learning benefit for each student.
